The Westchase Charitable Foundation (WCF) has assisted several families within our communities by distributing over $500,000 in funds. We also are pleased to be active members of our community by arranging family style events throughout the year including our annual “Westchase Cup” Golf Outing and Family Festival as well as Santa’s “pre-flight” parade through the streets of Westchase each December. Santa rides atop a vintage fire truck escorted throughout Westchase by the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department.
Who would have thought that transplants from Boston and Long Island, both baseball rivals, one a Red Sox fan and the other a Yankees fan, would have met and become great friends and neighbors who joined together with their community to form what is now the Westchase Community Foundation (WCF).

Both Dan O’Brien and Ralph Caputo were instrumental in creating the foundation and helping to bring it to life and where it is today to assist fellow community residents who have either children or parents battling a serious illness or assist people in the community and beyond who are faced with a family tragedy.
Back in 2004, the WCF began its leap to become a non-profit dedicated to help the citizens of Westchase and to improve the quality of life in our community. It all began by assisting a family in Westchase and their 8-year old child battling terminal brain cancer. She is with the Lord now but her battle and inspiration has moved the community and encouraged so many of all ages to help our fellow neighbors. By presenting the Annual Golf Tournament and Family Festival, where Westchase villages traditionally have competed for the coveted Westchase Cup and bragging rights along with the Annual Santa Pre-Flight Parade and Tree Lighting, it is our mission to be the Community Foundation that brings out the good in all of us.
