About Cady

Born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area, Cady Baer cherishes any opportunity to give back to her community. She is a teacher, a leader, and a visionary who values family, education, and community. At only twenty-six years old, she has taken an active role in the Tampa Bay community, specifically focusing on creating equitable opportunities for children and their families.

Cady received her Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the University of South Florida. During her time at the university, she was an active member in the Honors College and The Suncoast Area Teacher Training and Education Research (SCATTER) Honors program. She also took on leadership roles through the Panhellenic community, the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, and USF’s Housing and Residential Education Department. Upon her graduation, she was awarded with the College of Education’s Graduate with Distinction award for her service and research with the USF system. Cady claims that she is most proud, however, as her role as a peer mentor, helping first year students with their transition to college.

Cady continued on to work for Pasco County Schools in a Title I school. She quickly became involved with the AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) program in which she worked with low-income students, first-generation college students, and minorities that desired to attend a university. The program supported these students in developing critical thinking skills, taking rigorous coursework, and creating a career and life blueprint. In 2016, she was hired as the AVID Site Coordinator and was responsible for the management of the program. Through this role, Cady was able to raise money for the program and provided two scholarships in 2018 to further support two deserving students in the continuation of their education.

Aside from her success with the AVID program, Cady also took on the challenge of revitalizing her school’s Varsity cheerleading program. Within one year, she raised over $2,000, which allowed her athletes to take tumbling lessons, attend camp, and compete for the first time in years. Through Cady’s leadership, the team qualified for the Florida High School Athletic Association’s state finals, a first in school history.

Cady is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida. She hopes to use her degree to continue advocating for an equitable education system and to someday become a principal. In her spare time, she enjoys attending her local Pure Barre as well as attending Generations Christian Church. She is excited to commit herself to the Westchase Charitable Foundation in an effort to support the families and children of the Tampa Bay Area.
