About Aliya

Aliya was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area. As a lifelong resident of Hillsborough and Pinellas County, Aliya feels compelled to give back to her community in many ways. She has worked with various charity organizations. She is most passionate about her work at Alpha House of Pinellas County, an organization her grandfather founded to support expecting and new mothers without a home. As a current teacher in Hillsborough County and aspiring leader, Aliya understands the value of equitable conditions for children and their families and the positive impact that they will have on their future.

Aliya, 33, is a proud mother of two beautiful children, Nadia, 6, and Julian, 4. As a mother, Aliya has learned the importance of the community’s support, especially during trying times. It is true when they say “It takes a village” which is why she feels passionately about helping children in the community. In addition to her regular role at her two schools, Aliya volunteers with a Homework Club in Seffner. This is a free tutoring program where certified teachers provide additional academic support for students in the Seffner community.

Aliya received her Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida in Educational Leadership. She currently serves as an instructional coach at two low-income schools in Seffner. In this role, she focuses on providing supports and opportunities for under-served students- behaviorally, emotionally, and academically. Serving the school in this capacity allows her to support the school in meeting the specific needs of the students and provide them with equitable conditions for success. Aliya is a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and School Advisory Committees at both schools. These roles provide an opportunity for her to collaborate with stakeholders and community members, to ensure students have the appropriate levels of support in order to help them reach their highest potential.

In her spare time, Aliya enjoys running. She participates in many races throughout the year, raising money for organizations such as Stand Up to Cancer, Ainsley’s Angels, Operation Helping Hand, and the Children’s Miracle Network. She is excited for the opportunity to partner with the Westchase Charitable Foundation and continue to give back to a community she loves.
